Greetings and salutations:
The following was passed to me via a round-about channel. This
researcher, Carla Sarett, indicated in later posts that the entire
cost of the CompuServe online conference would be reimbursed by her
program and further, that the results would be published.
I pass this on just to let you know about one research effort
dealing with the disabled that may or may not have any bearing on
the lives of blind people. I doubt its utility in terms of meeting
the specific technological needs of the blind. Those of you who
are already on CompuServe might want to send private communications
to Carla, and those of you who are on Internet can reach her by
addressing mail to: 73204.3455@compuserve.com.
Here is the announcement:

Princeton Survey Research Assoc, in association with The Times
Mirror Center for People and the Press, is conducting a national
study of the uses of new technologies in the home. In connection
with this, we would like to conduct an online conference with users
of online services who are physically challenged and who are using
these technologies in order to broaden their lives. Anyone who
would be interested in participating in such a discussion, please
contact
Carla Sarett 73204,3455 via e-mail. This is not a marketing
study--and is intended for serious social policy discussions.
Thank you. Carla Sarett, Ph.D.
Cordially, Curtis Chong
