Dear members,
Asyou know we are embarking on a project to review
existing screen review products.
as you know we initially made the decision to not take
on Windows software at this time. I was not happy with
this, but didn't see any other way.
Well, things change. I approached Dr. Jernigan about the
possibility of getting funds to pay someone to assist with
this effort, since the information is so badly needed.
After some discussion and thought, he approved it.
We will be working with Frank DiPalermo, President of Ability
Consulting of Austin, and formerly with IBM as the head palnner
for Screen Reader/2 and other projects.
We will be paying him to evaluate the existing Windows access packages,
and how they work with the most common Windows applications,
Microsoft Word, WordPerfect for Windows, Microsoft Access,
Lotus 1-2-3, Quatro Pro, Paradox,
Procomm Plus and more. I have the software already.
Tim, I would like to request that Frank be added to this list,
so we can discuss the criteria for evaluating graphical access packages.
If you approve, I can provide you with his CompuServe number.
If anyone has any questions, or suggestions, let me know.
David Andrews
