First, what Robert says has merit and we shouldn't give up
the fight, I believe, simply because the political complexion
of Congress has changed. However, both Gary and Robert misconstrue
my comments. My opinion that a Federal Braille bill is in
jeopardy are not based upon the factoid that the Demos ae
the party of compassion and the G.O.P. is not (though I
have an opinion on that subject). Rather, I believe that
we, the blind, have our work cut out for us in advocating a
Federal Braille bill in that Congress will IMHO be loath
to pass *any* future Federal controls on subjects which have
traditionally been the province of the several states, e.g.,
education.
But we should try it anyway.
