Subject: Talking audio meters

Hello all;
I have been corresponding with Greg hansen the maker of a digital i/o board
for the pc. We are planing to write a digital meter that would sample the
incoming digital audio data and report it's level to the screen. I would
appreciate all opinions on the format of the screen data. ie "left -7 right
-6 peak -3" or "-7 -6 -3" a proposed feature would be press the space bar
and get the highest peak. It would have automatic overload reporting.

The cost of the board is only 350 and Greg is willing to write the software
at no additional cost. All suggestions will be appreciated. Mail me at
glukens@access.digex.net and if you have any questions for Greg hanssen his
mail is hanssen@netcom.com This should be a big help to those of us blind
audio engineers who need to check recording levels. I look forward to your
responses. Greg Lukens
