Hello:
I have some more ideas on research priorities.
1. With the proliferation of video based instruction, I think there is a
need for hands on instructional materials. These would range from
physics apparatus and models, geometry models, building kits such as
erector sets, Connex and fischer Technics. Information should also be
gather on places where blind children and adults can have hands on
expierences. Places like the Exploritorium (San Francisco), Ford Museum,
Sea world (San Diego) etc.
2. Catalog the type of home based businesses blind people are doing. This
catalog would include contact information.
3. Create a skills database. This would serve two purposes. One would be
to help us utilize the skills and talents of our membership and two,
serve as a list of the various jobs that blind people do.
I realize that these suggestions may not fall within the purvue of the
R&D committee, but they should be considered by some group.
