One positive thing about Microsoft's purchase of an OSM is that it
might increase the liklihood that future versions of WINDOWS will work
with it. At least Microsoft will not be able to say that they didn't
know a given change has a negative impact on off-screen models. Even if
other developers choose to use their own OSM, the fact that Microsoft
has one may make the OSM environment a more stable one. This can't hurt.
