Howdy Listers:

Peg Gemperline, a research associate of Dave Lunney's, Angelo Sonnesso,
a former student at ECU, and I are putting together an article
discussing how the Braille 'n Speak and its relatives can be used with
common garden variety lab instruments. The list includes balances, UV
spectrophotometers, IR spectrophotomers and quite possibly a digital
multimeter. I have it in the back of my mind that somone on this list
has had an article about interfacing the BNS to the Fluke mulitmeter,
and I want to give direct credit where it is due in the reference
section. In addition, I wonder if others can point to specific
references and equipment that needs to be included in such an effort.
And, of course, helpful suggestions about where to publish such
electronic articles would be appreciated. Eventually, I would hlpe to
get such information into the hands of teachers and college instructors,
say by way of Journal of Chemical Education or the Science Teacher.
Regards, David Wohlers
