We have scheduled a meeting at the CSUN conference in Los Angeles to
discuss the Future of the Optacon. There has been much discussion on
this list and other lists about TeleSensory's announcement they they are
discontinuing the Optacon. Many users have expressed a desire to see the
Optacon continue to be produced, in its present form or with some
improvements. Some of us think it would be a good idea to meet at CSUN and
discuss what might be the options for the future of the Optacon.
We have obtained the New York Room on Thursday afternoon March 21 at 1:00 PM
at the CSUN conference, Airport Marriott, Los Angeles for this meeting.
We hope to have representatives from Telesensory at the meeting. We already
have tentative confirmation from Dr. John Linvill, inventor of the Optacon
and Chairman of the Board of TeleSensory. We also think Dr. Candy Linvill
will be able to attend.
In addition, Dr. Jim Bliss, co-developer the Optacon, and Mr. Saburo Nagata,
manager of the Optacon II project, will attend.
We are anxious for any other interested parties to attend. Please
forward an email message to me if you think you might be attending.
