Subject: Eye research

Hi
The current edition of 'Spectrum' - the Journal of the Institute of
Electrical and Electronic Engineers - is devoted entirely to articles on
research and development of electronic eyes and may be of interest to
visually handicapped people and those concerned with their welfare.
The IEEE is at http://www.ieee.org/ and Spectrum is at
http://www.spectrum.ieee.org/
It was as exciting for me to read these articles as those written when
the first cochlear ear implants were introduced and when I was asked to
design the signal processors for the British version here at Keele
University.
We have come a long way in a short time and the prospect of vision for
all grows closer now.
Gil
