I'm at a loss about what is happening with ActiveX access in the bigger
picture of Microsoft's ActiveX and more importantly their integration of Java
with ActiveX. This is a potential double edged weapon --if ActiveX access is
indeed a part of the bigger ActiveX train and is visible from JavaLand it
would make accessible applications come to the surface a lot quicker --on the
other hand if these are two separate and unconnected beasts then ActiveX
Access will fix a problem of the early 90's while the next generation software
comes out in an inaccessible form.

I've written several times to the access team at MicroSoft asking them about
how ActiveX Access fits in with Java and ActiveX but to date the silence has
been deafening.
