Subject: Virtual Reality Mouse
Hi Lloyd
I was copied on your email about the Feelit mouse and I wanted to let
you know what we have today.
Our product the Virtual Reality Mouse is being sold today working with
Jaws, Window Eyes, Win Vision, Zoomtext & Extra and Magnum.
There is a substantial difference between the Virtual Reality Mouse
and the Feelit mouse, not the least of which is that we can put out up
to 2 pounds of force and the Feelit mouse is somewhere between 4 and
6 ounces.
We are however going to port out our code to the Feelit Mouse, and we
are talking with Immersion about getting this together. We have had to
put a fair amount of software development into our product, to get it
working with the above mentioned software products, and this is of
value to Immersion.
Here's a generic blurb on the Virtual Reality Mouse.
Control Advancements Inc. has recently released a new product to
market, a force feedback 2D mouse, the Virtual Reality Mouse.
The Virtual Reality Mouse is a 2D force feedback mouse for use with
Windows 3.xx or Windows 95. The Virtual Reality Mouse allows users to
"feel" Window elements as they navigate through Windows programs and
operating systems.
The Virtual Reality Mouse is an assistive or enabling device to
blind/low vision people, and can also help people with mobility
problems.
For standard desk top computing, the Virtual Reality Mouse is a
productivity enhancement tool, as it is both an input and output device.
The Virtual Reality Mouse is also an excellent educational tool to
learn how to use, and understand Windows programs ands operating
systems. It also is an excellent haptic device with many
applications. I.e. for force torque sensing of a robotic device, with
feedback directly to the user's hand.
We are shipping product today with both Windows 95 and Windows 3.1 and
3.11 VRM software.
We are taking orders for both operating systems.
The Virtual Reality Mouse sells for $ 850.00 US Funds and can be
viewed at http://www.controladv.com/products/vrm.html
