What Sofware Is Accessible???

The State of Minnesota, in the last legislative session passed a technology
access bill. This new law will help blind and visually impaired persons
gain access to software by requiring that software that the state of
Minnesota purchases is accessible to us.

We are in the process of implementing the legislation, writing a technology
access clause to be put into state contracts for the purchase of information
technology, etc. Among other things, we are putting together a list of
software that is usable by blind persons, as well as a list of software
which we can't use, and a list of sutff in the grey, in between area.

I would appreciate it if people would send me the names and versions of
software you have used, which is accessible to blind and visually impaired
persons. I am also very interested in the names and versions of programs
which you are not able to use. I am particularly interested in the kinds of
business applications you would use at work, not entertainment packages.

Thanks very much for your assistance with this project.
