Dear group,
I thought that I'd let everybody know some exciting news,
prompted by Neil's queries about the Tex translator. The Purdue VISIONS
Lab, together with Duxbury Systems, has decided to actively pursue both
the LaTex-to-Nemeth and Nemeth-to-LaTex converters. This is a TOP
PRIORITY for the VISIONS Lab. We plan to put all of our programming
staff on this project, and hopefully have a product available by the end
of the Fall semester. This product would be as complete as our existing
WordPerfect-to-Nemeth translator, and would of course be fully compatible
with it. Also, it would be compatible with Duxbury and contain the
embedded dollar sign codes needed for exact translation.
The current plan is to make this Tex converter a feature of
version 2.0 of our Nemeth translator, but due to the extreme interest in
the Tex converter, we may make it available as a seperate program before
the release of 2.0.
By the way, keep a close eye on both our home page and Duxbury's,
for the announcement of the release of version 1.1 of our program, which
has several useful enhancements, as well as several other neat products,
all of which Duxbury should have available to demo at World Blind Union.
Please let me know if you have further questions.
Regards,
