Hello:

The Oxford English Dictionary would be an excellent title to select
except that it requires Windows to run. I think we will find out that
as time passes, vendors will stop making titles for DOS and make them just
for Windows. It is easier to create titles using Windows than DOS.
I will look at some lists and see what is available.
Computer Select is a very nice title; it ought to be for $995. It does give access
to a large number of computer magazines and articles. The subscriber gets
a new CD every month. This contributes to the high cost.
The titles from Dialog Information Services are good. These tend to be
technical in nature but are DOS based and easy to use. The title that has
the widest use is, I think the Thomas Register. This title is a cross between
the Yellow pages, company profiles and advertising literature. You can find
anything from insulin extraction equipment to needleless injectors.
If that doesn't prick your interest, a listing of chocolate producers.
Dialog Information does have free evaluation periods for their CD-ROMs. I know
because I evaluated some for Tek. More later.
