MEMORANDUM
To: Members And Friends
          NFB R&D Committee

From: T. V. Cranmer, Chairman
Subject: Scientific Calculator
Date: March 31, 1994

Dr. Nemeth's initial report on the Programmable Scientific
Calculator was received with appreciation. The precision of this
calculator exceeds any of the hardware instruments that I have seen
or been able to locate. In addition, the number of functions and
operators clearly put this DOS program in the forefront of a
growing number of computer-based products in this area. I, for
one, am looking forward to examining the pseudo code. I am also
interested in some information on how Abe plans to implement the
programming capability of the calculator.

Also, I should mention that John Miller has been given the
assignment of writing the program module for producing graphs on
braille embossers. He understands that he is to talk with Abe at
the appropriate time to assure that the graphing software is
compatible with Abe's code.
