Jim,
I want to second the advice you have already received, that being that
you shouldn't try to learn it all at once. Also, your approach might
vary depending upon whether you will be reading texts in Nemeth or
whether you plan to use it more as a writing tool. Further, did you say
what kind of a math class? What do you need right now, a basic
cross-reference of symbols?
Like Bill, my math major was received in the early 1970's. I am not even
certain which version of the Nemeth code I was using and what changes
have been made since, but I would be glad to do what I can to get you
started.
