>>>
>>> 2. There was a thread a while back about Adobe's PDF being adopted by
>>> the federal government and it caused a lot of anxiety. What's up with
>>> PDF and access? Who should I be talking to at Adobe?

Still marching on. Good reference for the latest is Paul Fontaine (see
above) and Mike Paciello (See above) Adobe was talking about funding some
work to make pdf accessible (e.g. a dos reader or converter that worked
with screen reader and braille technology) GSA is very interested in this
topic (ref. Paul Fontaine again) as are we (trace).

>>>
>>> 3. Are there other information access issues that people think will
>>> affect significant numbers of VI people? I'm not interested in the
>>> standard GUI access issue in this thread -- that's addressed by plenty
>>> of other folks. CD-ROMs? SGML?

Yes. To long to post here. For discussion and materials on this see
gopher or web at trace.wisc.edu look in the INFO-CURBCUTS project
area. Also there are several listserves looking at access to next
generation information systems (mosaic, html, etc) for a list send an
email to listproc@trace.wisc.edu. put LISTS in the message body (all
by itself). (or HELP if you need directions) and it will give you a
listing of the current listserves.

>>>
>>> I appreciate feedback on these issues. Public feedback is best,
>>> because it will stimulate discussion, but private messages are always
>>> fine.
