The final report of the Telecommunications Access Advisory Committee
(TAAC), titled "Access to Telecommunications Equipment and Customer
Premises Equipment by Individuals with Disabilities," has been completed
and released by the Access Board. Single copies are available without
charge from the Access Board. Multiple copies are available for $3.00 per
copy.

NOTE:
The Access Board expects to publish the proposed rule in the Federal
Register in mid-April 1997, and the final rule by August 1997. The
proposed rule will have a 45-day public comment period. (There will not be
a reply period.)
This is a very important rule, since it deals with accessibility rules for
telecommunication products, which covers a very wide range of important
technologies.
I will try to post specific information as to where you can find the
proposed rule once it comes out. It will undoubtedly, however, be posted
at the Access Board's web site when it comes out, which is:
