Project Name:
Navigational Aide for Walker

The Problem:
Elderly blind people who use walkers have a difficult time navigating. A walker requires both hands and it is difficult to use a cane and a walker at the same time. Blind users of walkers are at risk
of not only running to objects, but of falling down stairs etc.

Design Challenge:
Design a device that will notify users when they are near objects and drop offs. The navigational aid suggested by Gary Wunder would be a good option.

Design Parameters:
The device must be durable and water proof. Some settings may need to be adjusted by staff. Once adjusted for object nearness, type of output etc., the device should have as few controls as possible.
